Micronized volcanic minerals, mined and milled in Southern Oregon. No fillers, no liquid, no pH-12 chemistry.
Do I even need silica? Isn't it already in my soil?
It's in the ground — locked in forms plants can't use. Over-cropped fields and container mixes are depleted, and fertilizer doesn't replace it. That's why we call it the missing element.
Powder can't beat the liquid… right?
At 2–4 microns the mineral carries naturally occurring plant-available silica — ready now. Liquid silicates are largely water, and their silica must convert before roots can use it. Dry also means you're not paying to ship water.
Will it spike my pH like potassium silicate did?
No. This is a gentle mineral, not a caustic pH-12 silicate — soil- and reservoir-friendly, no chemical pH adjusting required.
Is it organic-certified?
OMRI Listed and registered as a CDFA Organic Input Material. Certification docs are one click away on every product page — commercial growers can request them for compliance files.
Which of the four bags is right for me?
Short version: Volcanic Silica Minerals if in doubt, Silica + Beneficial Microbes for living soil, Soil Bio-Activator if you want one bag that does everything, Root Zone for fast mid-season help. The 20-second picker on the home page points at the bag for you.
USING IT
Soil, spray or lines — it goes where you work.
Rates are printed on every bag and every product page. When in doubt, start light — you can always add.
How do I use it — soil or spray?
Three ways: mix or top-dress into soil at transplant, foliar spray through the season, or run it through fertigation. Rates are on every bag and every product page.
Will the powder clog my sprayer or drip lines?
No — at 2–4 μm it suspends fine and is used in commercial fertigation. Mixing instructions come with every size.
Can I mix it with my existing nutrients or compost teas?
Yes. It's tank-friendly and plays well with nutrient programs and compost teas — growers brew with it specifically to feed microbial activity. No pH battle, no lockout.
How long does a bag last?
A standard bag covers a home grow from transplant to harvest — soil, foliar and fertigation included. Stored dry with the bag sealed, the mineral doesn't expire.
Is it safe around pets, kids and beneficial insects?
It's a natural ground mineral, not a pesticide. As with any fine powder, avoid breathing the dust while mixing — a basic dust mask is plenty.
RESULTS
What to expect, and when.
Silica is armor you apply before the stress arrives — not a rescue shot. Honest timelines below.
When will I actually see a difference?
Structural and stress benefits build over weeks — and show up hardest under pressure: heat waves, humidity, heavy fruit load. It's insurance you apply before the villain shows up.
Where does the 10–15% yield figure come from?
Side-by-side grows run with and without silica on the same genetics and feed program. Your mileage depends on genetics, environment and how depleted your medium was to begin with.
Will it stop powdery mildew and pests outright?
It hardens cell walls so plants resist mildew, mites and breakage far better — but it's a defense layer, not a fungicide. Keep your IPM; expect it to work less hard.
Mid-season already — is it too late to start?
No. Foliar application is the fastest route into the plant, and new growth benefits within weeks. Starting earlier is better; starting now beats not starting.
